The body that a jogger discovered Wednesday in Fairmount Park was identified yesterday as Christopher Jermaine Scott.

Now detectives are trying to figure out how Scott, 36, a transvestite prostitute, got there.

Homicide Lt. Philip Riehl said it was possible that someone killed Scott elsewhere and then dumped his body near a jogging trail on Chamounix Drive near Ford Road.

"No ballistics evidence was found at the scene," Riehl said, noting that Scott had been fatally shot in the face and torso.

"It looks like someone might have just pushed him out of a car and left him there," he added.

Scott was clad in a blond wig and pink clothing when a jogger saw his lifeless body shortly after 6:30 a.m., Riehl said.

"We're not sure if he met someone for a date, and things just went wrong from there," he said.

Scott had a criminal history that included 19 arrests and several convictions for prostitution and criminal solicitation, according to court records.

He used several aliases, including Jermaine Grasty, Steven Williams and Scott C. Jermaine, records show.

He had 25 known addresses, Riehl said. *
