The International Foundation for Gender Education & Transgender Tapestry FAQs (frequently-asked questions)
Category: Main -> IFGE Conference QuestionAnswerAre scholarships available for IFGE's annual conference? Scholarship funds are provided by many people that attend the annual conference by including a donation as part of the registration form. Funds are limited to the amount contributed by full conference attendee and are disbursed on a first-approved basis. Scholarships granted may be for a full or partial registration at the conference. Funds provided do not include allowances for travel, hotel rooms or meals other then those included in the conference registration package.
To qualify for a ?needs? scholarship, you must send a letter with a conference registration form attached, sixty (60) days or more prior to the conference, stating the specific amount desired and why you should be considered. Reasons may include such things as working part time while going to school, chronic unemployment because of gender discrimination, physical handicap.
To qualify for an educational scholarship, you must be a full time student. Educational scholarships are a matching fund program. You will receive a 50% discount off the registration fee in effect at the time of registration and the remaining funds are made possible by the conference scholarship fund. Complete the regular conference registration form, attach a copy of your student ID card and send to the conference registrar 60 days prior to the conference.
Applications for scholarships will not be accepted at the time of the conference.
