The Man Who Would be Queen

This is one of those books that you just know is going to try your patience to read. The author makes so many personal judgements in the guise of "Scientific Research" that it is hard to know where he first crosses the boundaries of science or good taste. Nonetheless I felt compelled to understand what makes people such as the author so off base.

The introduction whets your appetite for the meat of his arguments with such scientific statements as; "there is no way in which transsexuals who are attracted to women could be considered to have women's souls". I suspect his early research was on the more complex problem of determining the number of angels that could dance on a pinhead.

All in all it would be a humorously wrongheaded thing if some people did not give the author credibility. Save yourself the headache and the spare change and leave this book in the discard bin where it belongs.
