Sorry MelissaGale unless we attack the media companies and others, then attract allies who will also lend their support then items like this will forever poke fun at us and therefore society in general will continue to view us as a joke.
We will only be taken seriously when others realise that we will not be used in this way, merely turning off the off switch and not debating issues will result in apathy and nothing achieved.
Here in the UK we now have the Gender Recognition Bill, a bill that enshrines human rights for the Trans community. It was won by attacking those who would ridcule us and deny us human rights. It was constructed by long and bitterly fought debate.
As regards the LGB community not supporting Trans people well that too is a fact. I have long advocated that we do not need them as they only seem to use us when they wish to make up numbers in their own fights, but hardly ever seem to be there
